WIREUNWIRED BRIEF

Building antennas for orbiting hardware used to require massive, custom dishes and slow development cycles. Northwood Space wants to change that by turning satellite communication gear into mass-produced products. That ambitious hardware play just caught a massive market signal. The startup announced a three hundred seventy-five million dollar Series C round co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and DFJ Growth, vaulting its valuation to two billion dollars.

This fresh capital arrives just months after a one hundred million dollar Series B in January and builds on a nearly fifty million dollar contract with the U.S. Space Force. Our read is that investors are betting on industrial repeatability for orbital infrastructure, moving past bespoke engineering toward high-volume manufacturing.

CEO Bridgit Mendler and her team will use the funds alongside a financial agreement with HSBC to hire aggressively and scale production to meet existing government commitments. Whether a young hardware startup can successfully industrialize ground stations at this velocity remains the ultimate test to watch as orbital traffic surges.
