Meta Fuels MacroCycle’s First Recycling Plant

Meta has struck a groundbreaking deal with plastics recycling startup MacroCycle. This agreement will allow Meta to purchase environmental attribute credits from MacroCycle’s innovative recycling process. Those credits will provide MacroCycle with the funding it needs to build its very first factory in the United States.

MacroCycle’s technology dissolves and purifies PET plastics, including textiles, into high‑quality recycled material—cutting emissions by nearly 80% compared to virgin plastic. With this deal, Meta not only offsets its own rising carbon footprint but also helps accelerate the growth of sustainable recycling solutions.
