Two Google alumni have closed an $11.3 million fund for early-stage artificial intelligence startups named BAG Ventures. Founded by former Google vice president Bontia Stewart and former CapitalG partner Jackson Georges Jr., the firm finished closing the fund following about two years of investing from it. BAG Ventures has backed 10 companies, including software firm SXD, AI travel agent BizTrip, and agentic reasoning platform Nomadic.

The firm focuses on AI infrastructure, compute, physical and edge AI, security, governance, and vertical SaaS, with check sizes spanning from $100,000 to $500,000. Stewart and Georges plan to invest the remainder of the fund across the next two years. The firm counts over 150 limited partners, including Google, alongside operators from Amazon, Nvidia, and Snowflake.

BAG Ventures targets core technical teams possessing a minimum viable product, at least one partner, and a clear monetization path within 24 hours, while prioritizing products that integrate into legacy workflows and capture unscrapeable proprietary data.
