SpaceX is scheduled to launch its robotic Dragon capsule toward the International Space Station on Tuesday morning. The flight marks the company's 35th resupply mission for NASA. A Falcon 9 rocket will lift off from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6:33 a.m. EDT. If the schedule holds, the spacecraft will autonomously dock at the orbiting laboratory on Thursday around 11 a.m.
EDT. The cargo freighter is carrying 6,300 pounds of supplies and scientific equipment. Deliveries include the final set of International Space Station Roll-Out Solar Arrays to boost power, hardware for manufacturing artificial retinas, 3D heart tissue models, and brain organoids for studying neurodegenerative diseases. Dragon will remain at the station for about a month before returning to Earth with experiments and hardware, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.
Unlike other resupply freighters, Dragon is currently the only operational spacecraft capable of returning cargo downward.
