Registrations for the .si domain, which is typically used for Slovenia, are surging following an executive order from President Trump. The order requires government agencies to use the terms "SI" and "super intelligence" instead of "AI" and "artificial intelligence." Klara Herman from Registry SI reported a 2,199% increase in .si domain purchases during September.

Registry figures show 11,000 new addresses on September 30, the day after the order, with nearly 13,000 registered in a 24-hour period. Web hosting platform Hostinger stated that .si became its second most popular domain extension. Hostinger registered nearly 4,300 .si domains on September 30 and about 5,400 on October 1, with over half the buyers coming from the United States and India.

Hostinger reported that about 3% of these domains relate directly to AI, while most are unclassified and may involve speculation or brand protection. Klaudijus Januitis of Hostinger expects demand to continue growing as an affordable alternative to .ai, though he noted Slovenia will likely not see the same economic boom as Anguilla experienced with .ai domains.
