On Tuesday, President Donald Trump and artificial intelligence industry leaders announced a voluntary agreement titled the “Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities,” designed to establish additional safety measures and controls amid rapid AI development. The document features a spelling error beneath the president’s signature, where the “United States” is written as “Unites States” in a photograph shared on Truth Social.
Gizmodo reporter Matt Novak identified the mistake. The meeting involved technology executives including Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, and Anthropic’s Dario Amodei discussing AI advancements at the White House. The voluntary pledge outlines methods for companies training and deploying frontier models to ensure proper technology behavior and issue resolution, involving independent oversight boards and internal controls without legal or regulatory penalties for violations.
Zuckerberg described the accord as a starting point for the industry. Additionally, the president issued an executive order requiring government agencies to update their terminology from “artificial intelligence” to “superintelligence” or “SI.”
