OpenAI takes on Microsoft with the launch of what feels a whole lot like ChatGPT’s own office suite

During its Dev Day developer conference in San Francisco on Tuesday, OpenAI introduced new ChatGPT features targeted at office workers, competing directly with traditional workplace software. The announcements included Space, a shared workspace where colleagues collaborate with the chatbot and Dots, which are new AI agent personas capable of performing tasks on behalf of users.

According to CEO Sam Altman, pages and files reside together within Space. Additionally, OpenAI launched Pages, a word processor designed for human and agent collaboration that allows users to write, research, generate charts, create images, and visualize information. The company also introduced collaborative slides, enabling workers and agents to generate presentations through conversation, leave comments, and edit them together.
