NASA Sets Coverage for SpaceX 35th Station Resupply Launch, Arrival

NASA and SpaceX are scheduled to launch the 35th commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Liftoff is targeted for 6:33 a.m. Eastern time from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. According to NASA, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will carry a Dragon spacecraft loaded with more than 6,300 pounds of supplies and equipment.
The cargo includes the final set of International Space Station Roll-Out Solar Arrays, which are flexible solar panels used to generate power. The spacecraft will also deliver hardware to manufacture artificial retinas, 3D heart tissue models for drug testing, and brain organoids to study neurodegenerative diseases. The Dragon spacecraft is scheduled to dock autonomously to the space station's Harmony module around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct.
15. The capsule will remain at the orbiting laboratory until mid-November before returning to Earth with time-critical research and cargo. NASA plans to host a media teleconference on Thursday, Oct. 8, to preview the flight and discuss the return of the Crew-12 mission.
