NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman has named veteran engineer Stephen Cash as the new director of the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The appointment takes effect Monday, October 19. Cash succeeds Rae Ann Meyer, who has served as acting director since September 2025 and will return to her role as deputy center director.

Cash began his career at Marshall in 1982 and spent 34 years with the agency. His prior NASA roles include managing the Space Shuttle Propulsion Office and directing the Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate before he retired in 2016.
