Trump ads paid for by US government allegedly violate anti-propaganda laws

Public Citizen stated that the commercials appear to violate restrictions against political activity by federal employees and laws prohibiting the use of taxpayer funds for propaganda.
The complaint highlights an ad titled "The Final Battle," which uses identical video and audio to a 2024 campaign commercial, featuring Trump marching in black-and-white footage alongside audio vowing to demolish the deep state, expel warmongers, cast out communists, Marxists, and fascists, rout fake news, and liberate America. While the 2024 version was funded by the Trump campaign committee, the recent ad includes a notice stating it was paid for by the US government.
In response to the allegations, the White House maintains that the recent commercials are public service announcements.
