Aina’s new ring looks like a smartwatch in miniature, but its purpose is sharper: to let you command AI agents and everyday apps from your wrist. The device sports a tiny screen, a joystick, a built‑in mic and a speaker, all wrapped around a finger. The idea is simple yet bold—replace the clunky phone or laptop interface with a single, always‑on controller.

The market already has Pebble Index, Sandbar Stream, Oasis and Natura, each offering a handful of health or connectivity features. Aina’s ring pushes past that by integrating with both AI and non‑AI software. On a Mac, the joystick can toggle a Google Meet mute button, launch a music app, or even trigger a smart‑home routine.

The mic lets you dictate notes or set reminders, while the screen shows notifications from your phone. It’s a one‑stop shop for people juggling multiple digital assistants. Founder Apoorv Shankar explains the motivation: “Phones and laptop screens were designed for an age of browsing where you think about opening apps.

For interacting with proactive agents, we need a better interface.” The ring’s design borrows lessons from Aina’s earlier Mirage controller, which mapped keys to app functions.

Now, the ring promises to do the same for AI agents, giving users a tactile way to keep multiple assistants in check.

The device is available for pre‑order at $399, rising to $499 after the early‑bird window, and is slated to ship in January 2027.

With $5.5 million already raised, Aina is betting that the ring will appeal to programmers and AI enthusiasts who need a dedicated hardware layer to manage a growing ecosystem of agents.

Whether it becomes a staple or a niche gadget remains to be seen, but the ring’s ambition to fuse wearable tech with AI control is a clear signal that the next frontier of human‑computer interaction may very well fit on a finger.
